I am Professor Emeritus in the Department of Community Health Sciences(DCHS), Cumming School of Medicine(MED), at The University of Calgary (U of C), Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I can be reached by email at ghfick@ucalgary.ca or at ghfick@gmail.com

My research interests are in the field of biostatistics and in health/medical fields that use biostatistical methodology.

I have taught graduate courses in Biostatistics and undergraduate courses in Statistics, Biostatistics and Calculus.

Nationally, I have been involved with the Statistical Society of Canada(SSC) as member and as regional representative on the board of directors from 1989 to 1991 and from 1996 to 1998, and as President of the Biostatistics Section of the SSC (2004/2005). I have also served as member and as Chair of the Pierre Robillard Award Committee(Robillard) of the SSC.

Provincially, I have taken on a number of roles for the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AIHS) [now called Alberta Innovates : Health Solutions] and with SEARCH Canada.
